What MangaHalo Does

MangaHalo is a live reading aid for Japanese manga pages in Kindle Cloud Reader. It captures the visible reader surface only when translation is requested, sends it for temporary OCR and translation, and displays an English overlay in the browser.

Data Processed

MangaHalo may process the following request-scoped data:

• Visible page screenshot from the active Kindle Cloud Reader tab.
• OCR text and coordinates derived from that screenshot.
• Translated text used for the live overlay.
• Page URL and viewport size needed for overlay positioning.
• Email address used to create a free MangaHalo account.
• Monthly translation credit usage and optional feedback survey responses.

Data Not Created

• No translated manga image files.
• No translated PDFs.
• No full-book text exports.
• No shareable translation archives.

Retention

MangaHalo is designed to process screenshots and translation results for the current request. The normal service path does not store manga screenshots or translated pages long term. Account, credit usage, and feedback records may be retained to provide the free monthly credit limit, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

Sharing

MangaHalo does not sell user data. MangaHalo is not affiliated with Amazon, Kindle, publishers, or rights holders.

User Control

Users can run translation manually, turn automatic refresh on or off, and hide or show the overlay from the extension controls.

Users can request account deletion or feedback deletion by contacting the support address published with the Chrome Web Store release.
